Having abandoned the baby picture and cute puppy world that is Facebook, I find myself still feeling the need to connect to the world through the medium of a social network. There’s an immediacy and a level of interaction there that I miss (and perhaps have become accustomed to…). All this to say that I am now using Twitter for this purpose. Even though some people use it quite frivolously, I find there’s a more focused and professional (and in my case, even educational) quality to the format.
So, yeah, if you jive with that and are interested, please follow me @weirdhistorian
Thanks!

After trying twitter for a while, I decided it was for birdbrains but I miss your blog entries so I might consider migrating…….

Blog is languishing a bit these days. Just doesn’t seem to be time or anything really interesting to blog about. Twitter posts are considerably briefer and more glib. Using it as a teaching aid at the moment. Not sure it works in that vein either…

I am a complete convert to twitter. I was very skeptical at first, but now it has become a very important professional development tool.

@IR: Yeah, it has already made me some interesting contacts one month in. Facebook remains anathema, but Twitter seems OK.
